Laura Mazza, a 32-year-old blogger, shared an emotional body-positivity post on Facebook, along with photos of her postpartum body. She also celebrated her larger yet healthier body, with every woman out there.
Mazza’s honest post was about how her body before kids was visually more appealing to outsiders and herself, but unhealthy in terms of how she had achieved it. She claimed that her now plumper body is much healthier and happier, as compared with her old skinnier self.
Before the birth of her children, Mazza’s body was achieved by being on constant diets, staying off carbs and vegetables and an unhealthy amount of meat consumption.
According to the blogger, the weight loss results were what kept Mazza going on her unhealthy path. She admitted that she loved to show-off her skinny figure and high belly button. To reward her weight loss achievements, she said she even got a new wardrobe.
The mom-blogger stated in her post, that her postpartum body had more stretch marks, a droopy belly button and was much thicker so it was not as pleasing to the eye. She truthfully admitted that initially she did not love nor appreciate her body, which she thought was sad.
People even forced Mazza to love her new body, but she just wanted her old skinny self back.
The mother-of-four has realized that she has achieved so much more with her plumper body than ever before. Her postpartum body was a result of staying healthy, eating more of everything including fish, carbs and vegetables.
Most importantly, it was a result of happier memories, like making mug cakes at night for her kids or having wine with her husband.
Laura has finally realised that this was the body she should have ‘celebrated and admired’, because it had given her the opportunity to live more, give more and enjoy herself more. Her message on body-positivity was for every woman to celebrate healthier bodies, no matter what size they are.
