NBC decides to revive Brooklyn Nine Nine for another season after its cancellation by Fox

The famous US network, NBC has decided to revive the popular police sitcom, Brooklyn Nine Nine, a day after the cancellation by Fox. The network announced that they have decided to save the show from its ultimate death.

Fans were outraged by Fox’s decision to cancel the show, however, NBC answered their emergency calls and decided to save the famous sitcom.

The comedy series will return with 13 new episodes and most likely will be airing in 2019. NBC secured the sitcom, which stars Andy Samberg and Andre Braugher and is set in a police precinct.

When Fox announced that they wont pick the show up for another season, fans beseeched other networks to take over. Twitter users even started a protest to save the series on social media by using the hashtag SaveB99 in every tweet. They posted multiple gifs, memes, and clips from the show too.

The petition to save the Brooklyn Nine Nine was also picked up by well-known celebrities like Mexican director, Guillermo del Toro.

Terry Crew who plays the role of Sgt Terry Jeffords in the sitcom specifically thanked the internet in his tweet.

Stephanie Beatriz who plays the character of Rosa Diaz also thanked viewers for their support.

Actress Melissa Fumero, showed her excitement by sharing a celebratory gif.

Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment, said, “Ever since we sold this show to Fox I’ve regretted letting it get away, and it’s high time it came back to its rightful home.

“Mike Schur, Dan Goor and Andy Samberg grew up on NBC and we’re all thrilled that one of the smartest, funniest and best cast comedies in a long time will take its place in our comedy line-up. I speak for everyone at NBC, here’s to the Nine-Nine!”
