ASOS billionaire lost his three children in the blast that happened in Sri Lanka. The blast occurred during Easter.
Anders Holch Povlsen lost his daughters, Alma and Agnes and his son Alfred in the blast. Their funeral took place in Aarhus, Denmark on Saturday. The 46-year-old lost his three children in the blasts that occurred at Shangri-La Hotel on Sunday Easter.
The service included three small coffins that were covered with flowers. Members of Denmark’s Royal family attended the funeral, along with the Prime Minister of Denmark, Lars Lokke Rasmussen.
According to BBC News, “The death toll in the Sri Lanka attacks is now at 290, following a series of blasts at churches and luxury hotels on Sunday. Police have arrested 24 people, but no-one has claimed responsibility.”
Povlsen is one of the richest men in Denmark and considered the biggest landowner in Scotland after buying a lot of estates.
According to his website Wildland, “We wish to restore our parts of the Highlands to their former magnificent natural state and repair the harm that man has inflicted on them. There are many vulnerable properties across all of the holdings that we have the wonderful and privileged opportunity to rehabilitate and restore to life; there are also archaeologically important structures that we have the responsibility to protect.”
It concludes, “It is a project that we know cannot be realized in our lifetime, which will bear fruit not just for our own children, but also for the generations of visitors who, like us, hold a deep affection the Scottish Highlands. We wish to restore our parts of the Highlands to their former magnificent natural state and repair the harm that man has inflicted on them.”
Jesper Stubkier, Povlsen’s communications manager said, “I can confirm that three children have been killed. We have no further comment and we ask that the family’s privacy is respected at this time.”
The couple only has one surviving child, Astrid.
