Chrissy Teigen hilariously trolled those attending the Met Gala with her social media posts showing her lounging around at home, winning the hearts of everyone watching. She posted ‘tutorials’ of her at-home look, her messy bun and her bare face, giving fans a real laugh.
If there’s one thing Chrissy Teigen is a total boss at, it is keeping it real! The model was clearly annoyed at being unable to attend the event due to her pregnancy and chose to publicly vent her feelings.
She is pregnant with her second child and had to sit out this year’s red carpet event as it was deemed ‘too risky’ to attend in her state. Despite being unable to attend, she wasn’t about to go unnoticed.
Chrissy’s first post from the day of the event showed her lounging at home busy on her Nintendo, with an episode of Vanderpump Rules playing in the background. She proudly displayed her adorable pregnant belly and captioned the image, “Waiting for my turn on the carpet at the #metgala!!!! always an honor!!!”.
Friends and fans chimed in with messages of support for Chrissy, telling her how much they loved her humorous post. Jesse Tyler of Modern Family wrote, “I love that you went with Lululemon this year” and Mad Men’s January Jones wrote, “Omg I’m watching the same thing. While eating rice pilaf in my workout close [sic] from 9 am”.
The model’s next relatable post showcased a hairstyle that everyone sitting at home has rocked at some point: the messy bun. She gave a hysterical ‘tutorial’ for the look in her caption, writing, “This year’s #metgala GLAM was #SUPER important to me as I wanted it to really embody the heavenly bodies theme!!! I think we nailed it!! Swipe for for #creds!!!”
She continued, “First I shampooed my #hair yesterday with #shampoo then I let it sit for 4 minutes while i #shaved the areas I could see on my #body. Next, I used a #towel to dry my hair from roots to ends!! then, I used a #rubberband to secure my hair into a pony that i was careful not to pull out all the way! Lastly, I pulled out pieces around my #ears and #neck !”
Chrissy also jokingly promised to upload a full tutorial the next day!
Celebrity hairstylist, Jen, also commented in jest, writing, “THIS ISN’T HOW WE PRACTICED HOW-TO’S!!!”. John Ruggiero, hairstylist at The Wall Group, added, “I feel like you really embodied the theme, you always bring it and never disappoint #hashtage”.
Others on social media also went along with Chrissy’s joke, asking her which shampoo and conditioner she used and praising her ‘expensive’ looking hairstyle. The Sports Illustrated star didn’t stop there; she went on to post two more photos of her ‘look’. The full face selfies highlighted her glowing skin and showed her wearing no makeup. She captioned the image with a sarcastic comment, saying, “I was gonna do a makeup breakdown but I’m honestly just very jealous I’m not there. Also I need to drink water”.
Fans around the world told Chrissy how beautiful her luminescent skin looked and felt her pain at missing the Met Gala. Chrissy also took to Twitter to unleash her inner feelings.
She posted a screenshot of a conversation she had with a friend. She wrote, “Honestly I’m pissed a little because I always want to wear head shit and no one ever lets me and the one year I don’t go it’s head shit year”. She then made fun of her own comment, labeling herself ‘immature’.
Chrissy may not have been able to attend but she sure kept us all entertained, almost as much as Rihanna’s pope-inspired outfit at the Gala 2018.
