James Charles, a 19-year-old beauty vlogger, had more than 16 million followers. He had a quick rise to fame and was the first male ambassador for Cover Girl. However, it all went downhill after Charles walked the pink carpet at the Met Gala and called it “a step forward for influencer representation.”

Tati Westbrook, a YouTuber with 6 million followers, released a 43-minute video titled, Bye Sister to expose James Charles. In the video, she said, “You’re using your fame, your power, your money to play with people’s emotions.” She also accused Charles of turning straight men gay by saying, “You’re threatening to ruin them and embarrass them, and you’re doing that to have them behave sexually in your favor even if they’re straight?”

Charles is currently on a tour in Australia where he arrived late for a meet-and-greet with his fans. This cause great uproar among the people. They were there for the launch of a pop-up store for his brand ‘Sisters’ at Gold Coast’s Pacific Fair. However, he came late and only spoke for 6-7 minutes and then left the area. They were also angry at the huge rise in prices for his tour, with tickets selling for up to $500.

The 19-year-old released a short video on YouTube, apologizing to Tati. He revealed, “I hate knowing that I disappointed not only [my fans], but two people that have been role models for me doing this. What sucks the most is that I know there’s nothing I can say or do to ever earn that friendship or trust back but I don’t blame them for it.”

Tati has not responded to Charles apology yet. James Charles currently has around 14 million subscribers.
