World famous girl band, The Spice Girls are having their first reunion tour after nearly a decade. The tour will take place in June 2019.
The group members, including Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Geri Horner and Melanie Chisholm revealed the news on social media on Monday through a video posted on social media.
Victoria Beckham however, was not involved since she refused to take part. Beckham, who currently owns a multi-million pound brand, couldn’t be a part due to her “business commitments”.
However, the model and fashion designer took to Instagram to wish her former band members the very best of luck on the tour. Beckham wrote, “so much love and fun as they go back on tour next year.”
“Today marks a special day for the girls as they announce the first tour dates since we performed together in 2012!”
“I won’t be joining my girls on stage again but being in the Spice Girls was a hugely important part of my life and I wish them so much love and fun as they go back on tour next year,” she continued. “I know they will put on an amazing show and the fantastic fans past and present are going to have a wonderful time!”
Melanie Brown, also referred to as Mel B, announced that they might also go for a world tour after the reunion tour. Despite Victoria’s business engagements, she is still hoping that Posh (Victoria) makes it to some of the shows.
“It’s just the four of us that are fully confirmed, but Vic might join us at some point,” the singer said to ITV’s Loose Women. “It’d be a shame if she didn’t.”
The last time the Spice Girls were seen on stage was at the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games. This will be the first time that they will perform as a four some.
The girls, also known as Baby, Ginger, Scary and Sporty will tour Coventry, Sunderland, Edinburgh and Bristol. The tour’s final concert will be at London’s Wembley Stadium.
The tickets for all of the dates will go on sale at 10:30am on this Saturday.
