The Royal Family Christmas card portraits are finally here, and the difference in Harry and William’s portraits are insane.
Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, shared their holiday portrait, explaining that it will be on the family’s Christmas card. Kensington Palace wrote with their picture, “The photograph, taken by Matt Porteous, shows the Duke and Duchess with their three children at Anmer Hall.” The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge call Anmer Hall, Norfolk, home.
In the picture, 7 month old Prince Louis in on his mother’s lap, while 3 year old Princess Charlotte and 5 year old Prince George lean on a tree branch. The sweater Charlotte is wearing was actually worn by her before as well when she posed with her baby brother.
This is the first time the family has posed for a holiday card that includes their youngest son, Prince Louis. The family first posed altogether for a public photo right after the Prince’s christening.
Kate recently talked about her children and how they feel about the holidays. She said during a walkabout, “The [kids] are doing well, thank you. Getting excited for Christmas time because they’ve started all their Christmas songs and Christmas trees are going up and stuff.”
Despite initial reports that the family will spend Christmas with Kate’s family in Berkshire, the group will most likely spend Christmas with the royal family in Sandringham.
In completely opposite fashion, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared an unseen photo from their wedding as their official holiday card. In the picture, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stand facing fireworks. The picture, taken by Chris Allerton, was shot from behind their back.
As fans of their wedding will remember, Meghan Markle wore a dress by Claire Wright Keller from Givenchy to her wedding while Prince Harry was in military uniform. In the photo, the Prince retains his wedding attire but Meghan is in a custom-made Stella McCartney dress.
The entire Royal Family will be spending Christmas together, and while it is unlikely that they will share photos from inside their Christmas celebrations, the family will go on a walkabout after lunch when the public will be able to see them. The Queen will then release Christmas messages later in the evening.
Prince Harry and Prince William both released their Christmas card portraits at exactly the same time.
