Taylor Swift dropped her new single with Brendon Urie after so many clues and fans are going crazy. The song is titled ME!
The 29-year-old singer confirmed the news about her new single in Nashville, Tennessee, during the NFL Draft.
She revealed, “ME! Is a song about embracing your individuality, and really celebrating it, and owning it. I think that with a pop song we have the ability to get a melody stuck in people’s heads and I just want it to be one that makes people feel better about themselves.
While talking about her fandom and all the clues she posted she said, “The fans are amazing. I can not believe how dedicated they are, how thoughtful. I can’t believe how much they care. So it makes it more fun for me to create music, to create music videos knowing that they’ll care about little Easter eggs or clues or hints.”
Swift stared posting clues earlier this month. She posted the date “4.26” on social media and fans went in a frenzy. She also started a suspicious countdown on her Instagram to this date, confirming to her fans that she was about to release something new.
Her Instagram was full of pastel colors. Swift posted photos of flowers, herself, her cats, etc., all with a hint of pastel and the caption “4.26.”
The pop star also had artist Kelsey Montague create a mural in Nashville and made a surprise appearance there on Thursday. She posted a photo of herself standing in front of the mural of butterfly wings with a huge “ME!” in the center with the caption, “So… @kelseymontagueart helped me pull off the best surprise clue reveal today in Nashville. Thank you to everyone who showed up, I’ve never been more proud of your FBI level detective skills.”
The music video for ME! was released on April 26 and features Panic! at the Disco’s Brendon Urie. The video also features Swift’s cats Olivia Benson and Meredith Grey.
Swift was recently named one of TIME’s most influential people.
