Two Taylor Swift superfans Alex Goldschmidt and Ross Girard recently got engaged. They threw themselves a massive party to celebrate with family and friends. While they were thanking the guests for coming in, Alex told the crowd, “There was one secret I didn’t trust any of you with. There was a person who’s not here who sort of played a part in all of this and I would like to welcome, and if you could give a warm welcome, to Taylor.”

As Taylor walked into the room, the guests at the party erupted into ear-splitting cheers. She appeared with a guitar strapped across her body. She said, “So, Alex emailed me and said he was going to do this. There was a song that was really special for you two called ‘King Of My Heart’. This is from Alex, sung by me, but from Alex.”

She then proceeded to perform King Of My Heart for the couple, a song which she wrote in honor of her current boyfriend Joe Alwyn. The performance was acoustic and very different from the tour song. Watch the whole scene go down and the couple’s adorable reactions to the performance here:

Before appearing to be a part of Alex and Ross’ special day, Swift was seen supporting boyfriend Joe Alwyn at an Oscars pre-party in Los Angeles right after his 28th birthday. The singer wore a sparkly black dress. She seemed to have eyes only for Alwyn according to eyewitnesses at the event.
