Sandra Oh recently addressed Greys Anatomy return prospects, something she has done in every recent interview with the same direct and firm answer.
Oh has been promoting her new show Killing Eve recently. In almost all of the promotional interviews, the actress has been asked when she plans to return to her most popular show, Greys Anatomy. Oh’s character Christina Yang was a complete fan favorite. It left many disappointed when she left at the end of season 10. Yang’s friendship with Meredith Grey, played by Ellen Pompeo, became the standard of female friendship during the ten seasons in which Oh was on the show.
Oh recently told Entertainment Weekly, “I’m not coming back. So much love and gratitude for that time. But I have a new love in my life now,” gesturing towards costar Jodie Comer. She added, “And I want to hang out with her.”
In 2014, Oh left the show and let fans and the media know that it was not a temporary or light-hearted decision. Also, that she had given it due time and consideration. She also revealed she had to go to therapy for two years to recover from the show. She told the Hollywood Reporter at the time, “Creatively, I really feel like I gave it my all, and I feel ready to let her go.”
She added, “It’s such an interesting thing to play a character for so long and to actually get the sense that she wants to be let go as well. [Christina] wants to be let go, and I am ready to let her go… I want to cry right now. Grey’s has been the most important role of my life.”
Season 2 of Killing Eve releases on April 8 of this year.
