Priyanka Chopra’s cousin Parineeti Chopra says she will make Nick Jonas pay up $5 million before she lets him marry a member of her family.
Rumors are circulating that Jonas and Chopra plan to get married in Jodhpur in November this year, following a grand bridal shower in New York for the bride-to-be. According to Indian source Filmfare, “Since lot of Priyanka and Nick’s Hollywood friends are settled in New York, she is quite excited to have her bridal shower there followed by a grand wedding in Jodhpur.”
The wedding will reportedly be three days long and will take place in heritage palace Umaid Bhawan, and the source explained, “They will have a limited guest list of 200 people with only their close friends and family in attendance.”
Former Miss World, Priyanka Chopra’s cousin Parineeti spoke up about her excitement for Priyanka’s wedding, saying she would make Jonas take part in all the traditional Indian wedding festivals. As part of the traditional joota churana (shoe stealing), the sister-in-law steals the bridegroom’s shoes and asks for gifts and money if they want them returned.
The “Ishaqzaade” star Parineeti told Bollywood Hungama, “I was sitting with Nick only two nights ago and I was telling him that we needed to lock in our final amount. I quoted $5 million (Approximately Rs 37 crore). He said ‘OK, I’ll give you $10. So you can see the price negotiation is going to be difficult. But main bahut bahut paise lene waali hoon [I will be taking a lot of money from him] because I have to be his favourite saali [sister-in-law].”
The “Chains” singer proposed to the “Quantico” star in July during their trip to London when she celebrated her 36th birthday. He shut down a Tiffany store in the city to buy her a special ring.
The couple formally got engaged in an Indian ceremony on August 18.
