Prince Harry and Prince William will reportedly be separating their places of residence in the coming week, after which they will not be living nearby anymore.
Rumors of the separation started way back in October when the Sunday Times reported that the two were “considering a formal division of their joint royal household, which is based at Kensington Palace, and the creation of separate courts to reflect their increasingly different responsibilities”.
A source then told E! that the division of the households will take place very soon, and maybe in the next few weeks. According to the source, the division will definitely be before Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have their first child this spring.
According to the Sunday Times, “When William becomes the Prince of Wales, he will take on a lot of extra responsibility, including the Duchy of Cornwall. Harry and Meghan have none of that, and seem ambitious about forging their own paths”. The brothers have therefore started by splitting their media teams, which is said to have helped ease tensions between them.
While Kensington Palace has not commented on rumors of a feud, the Palace did say that Harry and Meghan will be moving out of Nottingham College which is close to William and Kate’s family, and into Frogmore Cottage on Queen Elizabeth’s II’s Windsor estate.
The brothers, along with Meghan and Kate, will continue working together on causes.
