The police have arrested the suspected shooter of Nipsey Hussle in Los Angeles after the rapper passed away from a fatal shooting at the age of only 33 years old.
29-year-old Eric Holder was on the run for two days before being arrested by the Los Angeles Police just 32 kilometers southeast of where Hussle was shot. The LAPD tweeted on Tuesday, “Eric Holder, the suspected killer of Nipsey Hussle, has been arrested and is in police custody. Thank you to both our community for the heightened awareness/vigilance, and our partners at @LASDHQ.”
The police did not say how they found him but stated that sheriff’s deputies reportedly detained him before the LAPD made the arrest. Police chief Michael Moore said Holder had a “personal dispute” with the 33-year-old rapper, and that they had arguments on Sunday after which Holder went to Hussle on Sunday with a handgun and fatally shot him.
After the shooting, Holder fled the scene in a Chevy Cruz being driven by an unknown woman. A police report later classified Hussle’s death as a homicide. A vigil was held for the rapper outside his clothing store where the shooting occurred. However, a stampede occurred after reports of gunshots causing chaos at the scene. Two people were critically injured in the mess that followed.
Lauren London, Hussle’s partner since 2013, said, “I am completely lost. I’ve lost my best friend. My sanctuary. My protector. My soul… I’m lost without you. We are lost without you babe. I have no words.” The two have a 2-year-old child together.
Hussle was recently nominated for his first Grammy.
