Paris Jackson is now in a rehab center to get some help for her mental health struggles after over a month of silence on social media.
Fans of Michael Jackson’s daughter thought she was having a tough time after she stopped posting on social media in the middle of December. Her brothers took a trip to Tokyo, Japan. However, Paris was nowhere to be seen on the trip. Entertainment Tonight then revealed that Jackson has been off the grid because of mental health struggles.
A source told E!, “After a busy year of work engagements that took her all over the globe, Paris decided that she needed to take some time off to reboot, realign and prioritize her physical and emotional health.”
The source added, “She checked herself into a treatment facility to aid in her wellness plan and is looking forward to coming out of this revitalized and ready to tackle the exciting new projects that await her.”
The 20-year-old model has had a busy year with many photo shoots and appearances. She is also now starting her music career and recently lost her grandfather Joe Jackson. Vanity Fair recently called Jackson Hollywood’s ‘It’ girl.
This attention has brought its own stresses for Jackson, who told fans in September after going to New York Fashion Week, “I just got yelled at in a really mean way outside the tom ford show because paparazzi didn’t get a chance to shoot my face. (for those of you that don’t know, paps don’t get paid unless my face is in the shot.)”
Jackson has been open about her struggles with mental health and depression her whole life. She revealed that she attempted to commit suicide at the age of 13-years-old. She told Rolling Stones in 2017, “I was going through a lot of, like, teen angst. And I was also dealing with my depression and my anxiety without any help.” Because of this experience, she went to a therapeutic school instead of a regular high school.
Her godfather Macaulay Culkin has revealed that he looks out for Jackson and that she relies a lot on him for emotional support. Culkin said in an interview last year, “I am a very open book when it comes to things but like with her, she is beloved by me…”
Jackson has not yet spoken out herself about her mental health struggles.
