One Direction was an English-Irish pop boy band comprising Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles and Liam Payne, The group was formed in 2010 when Simon Cowell signed them to his record label Syco Labels, and split up in 2016. Zayn Malik departed from the group first in 2015. The group was discovered as independent contestants of the seventh season of the British show The X Factor.

Fans have always hoped that the band might regroup one day, but Grimshaw broke that hope today. While talking to his former producer, Fiona Hanlow, Grimshaw said, “When we started this show [One Direction] were all together as a five piece. Do you think they’ll ever get back together?” He answered his own question saying, “No, not a chance, it’s not happening is it?

Liam Payne admitted to a possibility of a One Direction reunion earlier this year in an interview with Daily Star. He said that he was excited for another great time, but said that it would not be able to happen for at least two years given the very busy personal schedules of all the members. He said, “It’s amazing that we’re doing our own thing and then, hopefully one day soon, we get back together and have another great time of it, who knows?
