Mariah Carey has some harsh comments for her former executive assistant Lianna Azarian who she is now suing along with her former manager.
Carey hired Azarian back in 2015, and the two worked together until November 2017. Azarian had a salary of $250,000 when she signed on which was increased to $327,000 “when Azarian asserted that she required additional compensation because of the required hours.” The trouble started when Azarian allegedly filmed Carey without letting her know or asking for permission.
Court documents obtained by E! reveal, “Azarian, without Mariah’s knowledge or permission, secretly filmed Mariah engaged in personal activities which, if revealed, Azarian knew would be personally embarrassing and professionally damaging to Mariah.”
When confronted about the videos, Azarian threatened to “sell the video for a profit and buy herself a home” if she got fired. This is despite the fact that Azarian signed an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) which would be violated with this release.
The documents additionally reveal that Carey has claimed that Azarian is a “grifter, a Peeping Tom(asina) and an extortionist.” The singer also accused her former assistant of “outright stealing” from her.
Carey’s team told E!, “This new year welcomes Mariah’s continued efforts to clean the trash from her life.”
The rep added, “Because her threats and bad acts are too great to be ignored, Mariah has been compelled to file a lawsuit against her. Given that the evidence against this former assistant is vast and deplorable, we anticipate a victorious resolution. Mariah continues her streak of success this year with an upcoming North American tour and returns to Vegas.”
The court documents state, “Azarian delighted in the perquisites of luxurious international travel, fine dining, appearances on Mariah’s television program, and the excitement of working for and being in daily intimate contact with an internationally renowned artist and personality.”
In 2017, Azarian hired a lawyer who asked for millions of dollars from Carey. The latter’s team was “left with no alternative because Azarian refuses to return all versions of the criminal videos.”
Mariah Carey recently came to an end concerning her lawsuit against her former manager Stella Bulochnikov.
