Mandy Moore accepted the Hollywood Walk of Fame star with Shane West by her side, years after the two starred in A Walk To Remember.
40-year-old West came to the ceremony to help 34-year-old Moore celebrate her Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday, and surprised her with a picture of the two of them on set from 2002.
Talking about A Walk to Remember, West said, “We couldn’t have been more opposite when we met, I was busy wearing ill-advised clothes and having dubious hair choices and eyeliner and my garage punk band or whatever that was, and you were killing it on the pop star scene, and you had very long, beautiful blonde hair at the time.”
He added, “I was trying to get you to listen to The Clash and the Ramones. You were not interested, but you were very sweet about it. And you stuck to your Fleetwood Mac. Not only was this film a wonderful experience in every way, it gave me the chance to fall for this fantastic woman.”
He concluded, “Mandy, you are an absolute gem, your smile is absolutely ridiculous — seriously, it’s ridiculous, and it lights up the room when you walk in — your energy is irresistible, and your heart is second to none. I couldn’t be more proud of you, I couldn’t be more happy for you. Love ya.”
Moore posted a thank you to West on her Instagram, writing, “Stars have always sort of been our thing,’ she wrote, a reference to Shane’s character naming a star after her in the movie. Thankful to @theshanewest for his kind words on this very special day, one which I will never forget. It was a walk (of fame) to remember.”
Moore’s husband Taylor Goldsmith also joined her on the set.
