Mac Miller’s last will and testament has been revealed, and the rapper has named his parents as his complete beneficiaries.
Miller was found dead in his California home on Friday due to a suspected overdose. While an official cause of death has not been revealed, Miller’s will has been revealed by E!. The document was filed in 2013 and in it the rapper, whose real name was Malcolm McCormick, left everything to his mother Karen Meyer, father Mark McCormick and brother Miller McCormick.
He left his lawyer David Byrnes as his trustee in charge of his estate. In case his lawyer is unavailable, his brother Miller will fulfill this responsibility. The documents leave the value of Miller’s estate as ‘unknown’.
Miller’s family released a statement after he passed away, saying, “Malcolm McCormick, known and adored by fans as Mac Miller, has tragically passed away at the age of 26. He was a bright light in this world for his family, friends and fans. Thank you for your prayers. Please respect our privacy. There are no further details as to the cause of his death at this time.”
Miller’s ex-girlfriend Ariana Grande also shared a statement for Miller, saying:
“i adored you from the day i met you when i was nineteen and i always will. i can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. i really can’t wrap my head around it. we talked about this. so many times. i’m so mad, i’m so sad i don’t know what to do. you were my dearest friend. for so long. above anything else. i’m so sorry i couldn’t fix or take your pain away. i really wanted to. the kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. i hope you’re okay now. rest.”
Although Miller’s body was transported to his hometown of Pittsburgh after his death, no funeral plans have been announced.
