Kendall Jenner opens up about her ‘debilitating’ struggle with acne yet again, even while admitting that this is not the biggest issue in the world.
The model posted a ten-year challenge on Instagram with pictures of her 13-year-old self with acne. The caption said, “I was 13 and ran home crying everyday because people would stare at my skin.” She also posted a ten year later picture of herself from a set without any makeup on her face and glowing and clear skin.
The model also posted a longer caption on her Instagram, detailing her acne struggle. She admitted, “While there are much bigger problems happening in the world, suffering from acne for me was debilitating. It’s something that I’ve dealt with since I was a young teen and has caused me to feel anxious, helpless and insecure.”
She also talked about how life often looks perfect on social media and how she wants to change that. She said, “As humans, I don’t think we share our insecurities enough because we live in a time where being “perfect” is the standard. We curate our life online and pick the pretty moments to post.”
She also referred to her partnership with ProActiv, saying, “Being insecure about my acne gave me thick skin but I wouldn’t ever wish that feeling upon anyone so after trying countless options. I found something that has been helpful in maintaining clear skin for me.”
She concluded, “It’s been a long journey but I’m excited for where my skin is now. I didn’t think I’d see the day where I would feel confident posting a makeup free picture. My goal is to open up a dialogue around skin positivity.”
