Kate Beckinsale just got majorly confused with the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, and the actress took it completely in stride.
Kate Beckinsale recently revealed on Instagram that she has been hospitalized for an ovarian cyst. She shared a few pictures and wrote alongside, “Turns out a ruptured ovarian cyst really hurts and morphine makes me cry. So thankful to everyone who looked after me.”
She made a number of headlines for this news. However, one of those articles stood out from the rest due to the picture of Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, alongside the news.
Taking it in stride, Beckinsale wrote on Instagram alongside a screenshot of the article, “So moved and touched by all the kind wishes I have received over the last few days and staggered by the similar and worse stories my #cysters have been sending me. I am feeling much better and I hope all the other girls going through it are too. Back to resume my royal duties. William says hi.”
Many of her fans, friends, and followers also had a laugh alongside her about the mistaken identity.
USA Today, the organization that originally published the article mistaking Beckinsale for Middleton, also commented on the post, writing, “First and foremost, we’re glad to hear you’re feeling much better. We apologize for the image associated with this story. It appears our system pulled the first image in the photo gallery at the bottom of the story, instead of the image of you we put in the story. It just so happens the lead photo in the gallery is of Duchess Kate. We regret the error and are working to make sure this does not happen again.”
The 45-year-old actress is still in the hospital in regards to her ovarian cyst.
