Kanye West did not deliver on his promise of releasing his new album Yandhi on Saturday, and fans are letting the rapper know just how mad they are at his inconsistency.
On Thursday, Kanye announced that he would drop his new album Yandhi during his Saturday Night Live set. On September 21, Ye then teased the album release further with a holographic image of a CD case over his iPhone.
On Thursday, the rapper tweeted, “YANDHI 9 29 18 YANDHI IS RELEASING THIS SATURDAY.”
Later that day, he tweeted out, “We’re releasing Yandhi Saturday night We know it will come in number 2 to my brother Lil Wayne and that’s lovely The universe needs Ye and Wayne music at the same time.”
While he did perform on SNL as a Perrier bottle and later gave a passionate speech in support of Donald Trump, no album was dropped. Fans took to Twitter to voice their frustration with the situation, which was heightened after Kanye tweeted out, “No more cancel culture.”

While Kanye remained more or less silent on the issue, music producer Mike Dean weighed in on the frustration of West’s fans with a short and direct reply. He wrote, “U want sh*t or quality [sic].”
Universal Music Group accidentally revealed the number of tracks in the album in a since-deleted tweet. The account tweeted out, “UMPG songwriter, @AntClemons comes in putting work in 7 of 8 tracks on #KanyeWest’s new album #Yandhi.”
Realizing that the information was not public yet, the account swiftly deleted the tweet.
Kanye West’s last album Ye was 7 tracks long.
