On Friday, John Mayer’s house was robbed and an estimated $200,000 worth of property was stolen from his premises.
Security staff noticed a broken window around noon and called the police at Mayer’s Hollywood Hills studio. After the police came in and did a checkup, a spokesperson told E! News that in their estimation, $100,000 to $200,000 worth of goods that were missing, including music equipment and other more personal items.
Given that Mayer is valued at $40million according to Celebrity Net Worth, the robbery will not be a significant dent on his finances, but sentimental items will be hard to replace. No suspects have been identified so far and it has also not been revealed whether the security cameras or alarms were on at the time of the burglary.
Mayer bought this house from Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo earlier this year. The 7000 square feet home was valued at the time at more than $13 million and Mayer filled it up with his valuable collections, which have now been stolen in the ransacking of his house. The 40 year old singer was not home at the time and has not yet commented on the incident.
Mayer is currently on the road promoting his new song New Light, which was released on May 10 of this year. It was originally released to Hot AC and Triple A radio, and Mayer came out with a video for the song on May 24. He took to Instagram around the release of the video to say, “I needed to make a video for ‘New Light’ but nobody could agree on a budget, so I went to a place downtown and made this with a company that usually does birthday and Bar Mitzvah videos.” Mayer is a writer and producer on the new track.
