Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner will have two wedding ceremonies in the summer to commemorate their love. The couple recently had a surprise Vegas wedding.
The 29-year-old member of Jonas Brothers and the 23-year-old star of Game of Thrones got married in a surprise ceremony in Las Vegas on Wednesday. However, they will continue ahead with their planned wedding in the summer. A rep for Turner told People, “We can confirm Sophie and Joe were married in Las Vegas last night.”
A source told People, “The wedding is still in Europe”. The source added that the US ceremony was to make their marriage legal. On the Zach Sang show, Joe said, “I mean, we are getting married in France, so a lot of Coors Light is necessary. Not hard, really, to get that, but we needed to make sure that was going to happen.”
Addressing the wedding planning part, Joe said, “We got most of it figured out already. There are parts of it that I think just naturally are stressful, but you just have to allow yourself to enjoy the fact that you’re doing this. It’s not really about all the little minor details, it’s going to be great and things are gonna go wrong, but I enjoy planning stuff.”
The couple started dating back in November of 2016 when Joe slid into Turner’s DMs. By December of that year, sources said Joe wanted to settle down with Turner permanently. In October of 2017, Joe solidified their bond by proposing to Turner. Turner told Harper’s Bazaar UK for the May cover that “We’re trying to keep [the wedding] as low-key as possible so it’s more of an intimate thing”. Turner’s best friend Maisie Williams will be her maid of honor.
Game of Thrones is currently airing its final season.
