A new book has alleged that Jared Kushner did not approve of Karlie Kloss’ marriage to brother Joshua Kushner, and the rest of his family also disapproved.
A new book titled Kushner, Inc.: Greed. Ambition. Corruption. The Extraordinary Story of Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump written by Vicky Ward was released this week. The author details how Kloss was looked down upon by Joshua’s family and especially his older brother Jared, who is now serving as the adviser to US President Trump.
The book says that Joshua’s father Charles Kushner and wife Seryl did not approve of Kloss because she was not born Jewish. Also, his mother said the marriage between them was her “biggest failure”, even though Kloss became Jewish before the marriage. Joshua also apparently told Gary Cohn that his parents spent the time after they got together in 2012 right up to their marriage assessing Kloss.
The book also alleged that Jared Kushner was extremely against Kloss at the start. He referred to her as “shiksa”, which is a derogatory term used to refer to women who are not Jewish. Ward wrote, “Jared’s mindset was made quite apparent when, in 2012, Joshua started dating Victoria’s Secret model Karlie Kloss.”
Ward also alleged that when journalist Aaron Gell wished Jared well about Kloss, Jared responded, “Don’t worry. The family is going to take care of that. We’re not very happy about him dating a shiksa. We’re hoping he’ll move on.” Jared also allegedly told Gell that Kloss is “not that smart”.
The book says that this constant scrutiny was the reason behind Kushner’s parents being excluded from the small private ceremony that was Kushner and Kloss’ wedding. It was his way of payback for the years of distrust over Kloss.
Kloss and Kushner got married on October 18, 2018.
