After going through several miscarriages, Jana Kramer is expecting her second child with NFL tight end husband, Mike Caussin.
The actress announced the big news on Instagram in a sweet post. She posted a picture of her family with a board reading, “Only child expiring November 2018.”
Alongside, she wrote, “Surprise! We have a rainbow baby on the way & couldn’t be more excited! Jolie is going to be a big sister & we’re becoming a family of 4!”
She also mentioned that she used the help of the Ava Bracelet to get pregnant and Bonjesta to manage her morning sickness.
The One Tree Hill actress has previously had 3 miscarriages and 2 chemical pregnancies. She told People, “I’m so excited. We lost in October and then we did an IVF cycle and we lost in February, so I want to be able to be like, ‘Hey, I know it’s hard but just try to have some hope.”
She also talked about using the Ava Bracelet to track her fertile periods, which helped her get pregnant naturally. She said, “I didn’t know I ovulated late and I don’t know if it’s because my cycles are messed up because of my miscarriages, but it said I ovulated on the sixteenth or seventeenth day so that’s what we trusted and I got pregnant.”
While she seems to have a healthy pregnancy this time, the country music star has had a tough time with morning sickness so far. She said this is difficult specially because of how it compromises her time with her 2 year old daughter, Jolie. She said, “I was in bed for like six weeks straight. I felt like I was just doing such a bad job as a mom because Jolie’s super active right now.”
Seven months after Jolie was born, Kramer split up with her husband. He had been unfaithful to her on several occasions. He eventually entered himself into a rehabilitation facility and, since then, the two have gotten back together and are trying to work things out. Kramer said they waited to get into a healthy enough place before they made any additions to their family. She explained, “We really wanted to get to a place where we were healthy [before trying for another baby]. We both know that children do not save a marriage.”
She also said that because of the work the two have put into their relationship this time around, this pregnancy is much easier and her husband is much more present and supportive during it. She explained, “The first [pregnancy] was tough. He was going through his thing that I didn’t even know about, but this time around he’s just truly been the greatest support system I could’ve ever asked for. It feels so much more unified and I love that.”
Kramer discusses her pregnancy, relationship and other details of her life in her podcast, Whine Down with Jana Kramer.
