Rapper J Hus performed with Drake at London’s O2 just four months after being jailed for possession of a knife in December.
Eight months ago, the rapper was sentenced to eight months in prison after being caught with a weapon at Westfield Shopping Center in east London. Less than four months after being jailed, the rapper came forward to play with Drake at London’s O2.
J Hus wrote about the experience in the first post on his official Instagram account, writing, “Last night was mad. Beh love to all my fans, friends and family. Been seeing all the support while I was away. Trust me I appreciate you all. Shout out to @champagnepapi, The Farda is back!!”
Drake announced J Hus’ arrival by saying, “We’re about to celebrate one of our brothers tonight,” adding, “Welcome home!” J Hus came onto the stage saying, “I’ve missed you so much, I swear I missed you so much.”
Drake said, “I waited for this all week so I could give you this stage so you can do exactly what you’ve been waiting to do.” Sources said J Hus was released from prison the same day as the O2 performance itself, with some people questioning whether he deserves to be out so soon.
J Hus, whose real name is Momodou Jallow, was jailed back in December after pleading guilty in front of Judge Sandy Canavan to a charge of carrying a weapon in a public place. The judge told him, “This, in such a young life, is the fourth occasion when you have gone out armed with a knife.”
During the hearing, the rapper apologized and said that he “fully accepted his actions were careless.” He added that he knew that carrying the knife was “ill-advised” and “utterly stupid”, adding: “I was not in the right state of mind. I’m deeply sorry and regret my foolish actions.”
J Hus was apprehended by the police while in the car with his girlfriend after the police smelled cannabis.
