Iggy Azalea took to social media to explain herself after being criticized for continuing to perform as a backup dancer had a seizure in the back.
On Thursday night, Azalea was performing at a concert in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In the middle of her set list, one of the three dancers in the back hit the floor. The audience looked on, shocked, as Iggy continued to perform Black Widow. The rapper then asked for a medic to come onstage and eventually finished the show.

Her decision to continue performing garnered her criticism online. This led her to defend herself on Instagram later on.
First, she gave an update on the dancer’s condition, saying, “Hey guys, just wanted to let everyone asking know my dancer is OKAY! The lights & heat caused her to have a seizure. She is backstage feeling much better.”
She also revealed, “I thought she had just fallen/twisted her ankle and it might sound harsh, but you keep singing until the music stops & ask for a medic, which is what I did.” She added, “We are all really shaken up by what happened and just thankful that she is okay.”
At the end of her statement, the rapper asked her fans to be kind saying, “I know it’s easy to make memes of someone ‘passed out’ but someone having a seizure isn’t funny, it’s really scary! So I’m hoping my fans do not repost some of the memes I’m seeing about my dancer.”
However, the dancer herself has not yet spoken out about what happened.
