Harry Shum Jr. and his wife Shelby Rabara have welcomed their first child into the world. They have named their daughter Xia.
The Shadowhunters star posted about the birth of his baby daughter on Instagram. He uploaded a picture of her feet with the caption, “Baby XIA.” Rabara posted the same photo with the caption, “My everythings.”
The photo had the words, “How wonderful life is, now you’re in the world” on the top.
His fellow cast members like Katherine McNamara, Luke Baines, Sarah Hyland also shared their love on the picture by commenting hearts underneath.
Shum and Rabara got married in 2015 and announced their pregnancy in November of last year. The Glee star posted a photo of the two of them showing off Rabara’s baby bump.
Shum, 36, revealed to PEOPLE that he wanted to teach his baby how to make dumplings. He said, “We’re going to see how her little fingers will make dumplings and what age she can do that herself!”
Adding, “That was always a fun thing for kids to do. There are so many traditions. I hope to continue the tradition to decorate the whole house with red lanterns and locks turned upside down for good luck.”
He joked that “When my mom makes dumplings, she is an expert — I’m just trying to keep food inside the dough. I’m hoping to pass it on so my wife and I can be expert-level dumpling makers and be able to pass that down to our kids.”
Harry Shum Jr. currently stars as Magnus Bane in the television series Shadowhunters on Netflix and will star in the sequel of Crazy Rich Asians.
Congratulations to the new parents!
