Emmy Rossum left an empowering message for her fans on her Instagram, revealing how much she actually weighs.

Emmy Rossum, a beautiful woman who wants to put an end to her struggles with insecurities, took to Instagram to talk about something that is highly important to her. She wrote, “BECAUSE YOU ARE SO MUCH MORE THAN A NUMBER.”

She tagged the I Weigh Movement, which motivates women to feel confident irrespective of how much they weigh.

The 31-year-old actress does not want to be defined by her weight, and encouraged her followers to not let a number on a scale define who they are either.

On Wednesday, the Comet actress asked her Instagram followers if they want to know what she weighs, adding, “Have you ever typed into google: ”What does *insert name of actor/model/celebrity* weigh? Followed by countless hours of compare and despair??”

“During my life the scale has told me that I’ve gained and lost and gained and lost,” Rossum continued.

“3 best friends since kindergarten, drive, kindness, empathy, makes friends with strangers, Jewish and proud, Daughter, 100+ hours of television,” Rossum wrote. “The courage it takes everyday to overcome ptsd, one happy marriage, 3 episodes of television directed, countless hours of therapy, one finished screenplay, and animal rescuer.”

“See, when you add up everything you are??” Rossum added, counting the things which actually make her who she is, not her weight. “The size of your thighs don’t really matter anymore do they?!”

“So join me in this. Show people what you are actually made of. Because you are so much more than a f—— number.”

Emmy Rossum did not end her words of encouragement here, but also called on her followers to follow her lead.

“So I want to nominate everyone who saw this to do their own version of ‘I Weigh,’ tell us what you’re made of. Because you’re so much more than what that dumb piece of metal says. Alright?”

The Golden Globe winner previously also commented on Kim Kardashian’s weight, slamming her ‘skinny post’ about weighing 119 lbs. At the time, Kim shared a clip where Kendall told her she was worried about her becoming ‘too skinny’, to which Kim responded, “Really? Thank you!”

Rossum told her fans, “The only time I was 119 pounds is when I had MONO. On a magazine shoot everyone was ‘freaking out over how good’ I looked. I had lost ten pounds and was gaunt and sick and felt faint… It totally messed with my head.”

The actor who went from being relatively unknown to becoming a household name further commented on the matter, “You never know what someone is going through. If you’re having a tough time with body image, I promise you’re beautiful and this feeling will pass.”

“Today is just a moment. Practice some self-care and reboot. Take a bath. Take a walk. Take a yoga class. Make a healthy nutritious meal and watch your favorite funny movie. Tomorrow is another day.” the Shameless star concluded.
