At the end of July, the news broke that Lovato was unconscious after almost overdosing on oxycodone laced with fentanyl. She was immediately taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she spent 10 days before going straight to rehab. She has not been back to the site of her overdose since it happened.

She wrote a message about her overdose on Instagram, saying, “I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction. I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction. I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery. The love you have all shown me will never be forgotten and I look forward to the day where I can say I came out on the other side. I will keep fighting.

Part of Lovato’s fight to move on has been to put her Hollywood Hills house up for sale. She purchased it for $8.3 million in September 2016 and has now listed it for $9.5 million. The 5,546 square foot house has four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a pool, a hot tub, a gazebo and a terrace with a view of the Pacific Ocean and Sunset Strip.

According to Cara Ameer, a California based real estate agent who spoke to Page Six, “Typically — unless the home was being used as a meth lab — drug use does not have to be disclosed.”

In January 2017, the house was in danger of sliding down a hill after storms. A mudslide entered the house’s driveway as well. The Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety confirmed in July that the issue had been corrected.

Lovato cancelled some upcoming performances and dates from her tour to deal with her issue.
