Demi Lovato is going out and about now that she has completed her rehab stint. After 90 days in the facility, the singer is free.
Lovato was seen in Beverly Hills in the Matsuhisa Restaurant on Saturday night, with a guy. While it is not clear who he was, the two were seen laughing and smiling throughout dinner.
The singer suffered from an overdose on July 24th in her Hollywood Hills home. At the end of July, the news broke that Lovato was unconscious after almost overdosing on oxycodone laced with fentanyl. She was immediately taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she spent 10 days before going straight to rehab.
After being hospitalized for 10 days, she went directly to rehab at the beginning of August and spent 90 days inside before being released.
Two weeks after her overdose, Lovato took to social media to write, “What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet.”
She added, “I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery. The love you have all shown me will never be forgotten and I look forward to the day where I can say I came out on the other side. I will keep fighting.”
She went on to thank those who were there for her during this time, including her family, her team and the staff at Cedars-Sinai, where she was hospitalized. She also expressed her gratitude for being alive and well.
Lovato’s ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrrama visited her in the hospital regularly. The two dated for six years before breaking up in 2016. Lovato previously credited him for her three years of sobriety, “I really wouldn’t be alive today without him. I love you, Wilmer.”
The singer has battled addiction and eating disorders in the past. Despite being sober for a long time, she informed fans in her song Sober that she had fallen off the wagon. Right before her overdose, Lovato and her friends were partying hard for several months and on the night of her overdose, she partied for 12 hours straight.
In the song, she sang:
“Mama, I’m so sorry I’m not sober anymore
And daddy please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor.
And I’m sorry for the fans I lost who watched me fall again
I wanna be a role model, but I’m only human.”
Part of Lovato’s fight to move on has been to put her Hollywood Hills house up for sale. She purchased it for $8.3 million in September 2016 and has now listed it for $9.5 million. The 5,546 square foot house has four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a pool, a hot tub, a gazebo and a terrace with a view of the Pacific Ocean and Sunset Strip.
Demi Lovato has not yet released an official statement about her release from rehab.
