David Spade, Mel B, and even Bradley Cooper’s ex-wife reacted to his Oscars performance and chemistry with Lady Gaga.
On Sunday night, Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga performed the song Shallow from their movie A Star Is Born. Their palpable chemistry confused many. Cooper’s girlfriend, and the mother of his two-year-old daughter, Irina Shayk was in the front row. Gaga recently broke up with her fiance Christian Carino.
After the performance, the audience gave the two performers a standing ovation. Cooper’s girlfriend was one of the first to stand up and fiercely hug both Gaga and Cooper. Their chemistry extended beyond just their performance. During her Oscars speech after her win for Best Song, Gaga told Bradley, “There’s not a single person on the planet that could have sang this song with me but you.”
While on Good Morning Britain later, Mel B said, “I was so uncomfortable for Bradley’s girlfriend. But I would like to think it was part of the whole performance because there’s a women’s code and… hopefully it’s only professional.”
Even David Spade took to Instagram to post a picture of the performance and wrote, “Is there any chance these two aren’t f***ing?” Cooper’s ex-wife Jennifer Esposito responded to the picture and wrote, “Ha.”
Esposito and Cooper’s marriage lasted for four months and divorced in 2007. In her book Jennifer’s Way, she wrote about the “entire marching band squad of red flags” she should have seen but “chose to ignore”.
She wrote “He was funny, smart, cocky, arrogant, and a master manipulator. I didn’t necessarily find him that attractive, but I figured that I could enjoy his sense of humor and nonsense for a while”. She also added that he had a “mean, cold side” and that “the relationship was about him and what he needed, and nothing else.”
Cooper named his daughter with Shayk, Lea de Seine Shayk Cooper.
