Charlize Theron shuts down French TV host who kissed his interpreter without permission. Social media is split about Theron’s actions.
Theron alongside her Long Shot co-star Seth Rogen was on the French TV show called Touche pas à mon poste. During the show, presenter Cyril Hanouna called over his interpreter and kissed her cheek without asking. Theron responded to the situation by saying, “Wow! That was very… OK. Maybe ask next time?” Hanouna looked embarrassed after being called out.

One person wrote on social media, “Being an interpreter and a woman, I really appreciate what Charlize Theron said when the TV host kissed her interpreter out of the blue.” Another wrote, “Thank you @CharlizeAfrica ! In one sentence, you have highlighted exactly the problem of @Cyrilhanouna this guy is a jerk who has no respect to anyone #askNextTime.”
Yet anoher wrote, “Goodnight to charlize theron reprimanding a gross ass tv show host on live tv only.” Another one wrote, “@Cyrilhanouna kissed a girl, @CharlizeAfrica underligned that the girl didn’t give her prior consent and all he does is asking the girl if she was titillated (“émoustillée”). No, she was disgusted, objectified and infantilized on TV by you, effing stupid clown.”
One person took to social media to question why the presenter was still allowed on the air despite being so inappropriate, writing, “Soooo I’m just wondering but when will @Cyrilhanouna be fired from #TPMP or when will his show be canceled?!?!? Because the fact that @CharlizeAfrica had to let him know how consent works just baffles me… but tbh he has been called out for disgusting behavior before.”
One person felt that Charlize had acted inappropriately, writing, “A cultural thing… Ms. Theron was imposing her culture on the French….she should have kept her mouth shut and let the translator make the call.”
Long Shot will be releasing on May 3.
