Channing Tatum is focused on being a great dad to his daughter Everly after his divorce from Jenna Dewan with a strict custody agreement detailing his role.
According to court documents, Jenna and Channing have not been “consistent or formal” in the break up of the time they spend with daughter Everly. Channing wants a proper custody arrangement which he feels will help Everly “thrive even more”. Documents obtained by E! show that Tatum is hoping for an “equal, mutual and self-executing” custody arrangement.
Tatum also wants Everly’s Mondays and Tuesdays, with Jenna taking Wednesdays and Thursdays and the parents alternating visitation of weekends. The two will “equally divide and alternate” the holidays they both spend with their daughter with the exception of Halloween. They “shall try to work together to try to spend Halloween together, trick or treating with Everly from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.” They did come together for Halloween in 2018 to celebrate with their daughter together.
So far, Tatum’s visits to Everly have been sporadic but he says, “Since our separation and on the occasions that we have been together, Everly appears very happy and comfortable when she is with [Jenna] and me.” He added, “In my opinion and experience, Everly has appeared to adjust to our separation and living in two homes exceptionally well.”
Channing has also revealed in the past the extent he has gone to make Everly feel comfortable. He said, “I decorated Everly’s room very girly in a fairytale and fantasy theme (i.e. Alice in Wonderland), with pictures of Everly with both [Jenna] and me on trips. The room had bunk beds, which Everly was ecstatic about.”
Everly is engaged in a number of children’s activities such as sculpting, ballet, and horseback riding. Channing and Jenna are looking to maintain these despite their separation. Jenna’s rep told E!, “There are always going to be logistical hurdles with any divorce, but Jenna is fully committed to doing everything that is in Everly’s best interest.”
The estranged couple has not yet announced a divorce date.
