Cardi B and her husband Offset have officially welcomed their first child together into the world. The new mother took to Instagram to confirm the news.
Posting a photo of her pregnant self on Instagram on June 11, Cardi wrote, “Kulture Kiari Cephus 07/10/18″. Fans think the name of the baby is a reference to Offset’s 2017 album Culture. The K at the start of Kulture could be a reference to Offset’s real name, which is Kiari Kendrell Cephus. In the picture she posted, Cardi is wearing no clothes, and is surrounded by dozens of colorful flowers. According to TMZ, Offset was there at the hospital with Cardi when she gave birth.
Cardi, who’s real name is Belcalis Almanzar, announced her pregnancy in April during a performance on Saturday Night Live. While performing Be Careful, the camera panned out and showed her swollen belly. This is the 25 year olds first child and Offset’s fourth. Since announcing the news, Cardi has been forthcoming about details relating to her pregnancy on social media.
At the end of June, Cardi threw a baby shower for her upcoming child. The theme of the party was Bronx Fairytale and the to-be mother wore a form fitting pink dress during the celebrations.
Cardi also recently revealed that she had secretly married Offset in September 2017. He publicly proposed to her in October, making fans think the couple were having their child while being engaged. After the news that they were in fact married was leaked online, she took to her social media to write, “This is why I name my album Invasion of Privacy. Privacy cause people will do the most to be nosey about your life (sic).”
She revealed some details about the ceremony, saying “One morning in September we woke up and decided to get married. We found someone to marry us, and she did, just the two of us and my cousin. I said I do, with no dress no make up and no ring (sic)!”
She also revealed that she conceived her child with Offset after the two got married, writing “Well now since you lil nosey f**ks know at least ya can stop saying I had a baby out of wedlock (sic).”
Cardi B is the first female rapper to have two No. 1 singles on the US Billboard Hot 100. The songs that made the record for her are I Like It and Bodak Yellow.
Her first album Invason of Privacy was released in April and topped the US Billboard 200. It is now certified platinum in the US.
