Cardi B cancels performances to recover from plastic surgery after strict doctors orders. The singer was “overzealous in getting back to work”.
The rapper has had to postpone a couple of shows after the doctors advised her to get rest. The postponed shows were at the Spring Bling Festival and in El Paso over Memorial Day Weekend. Cardi originally pushed these same shows forward in September. The singer is cancelling shows due to “circumstances beyond her control.”
Did not take the “time necessary to fully recover”
A source told E! that Cardi “jumped right back into her work so she wouldn’t disappoint her fans and wanted fulfill her obligations.” Additionally, her rep told Mirror, “Cardi was overzealous in getting back to work. She [did not] take the time necessary to fully recover from her surgery.” Additionally, “Her strenuous schedule has taken a toll on her body. She has been given strict doctors orders to pull out of the rest of her performances in May.” Furthermore, “[The rapper is] very disappointed as she hates to let her fans down. Cardi reassures them that she will see them in September.”
Cardi previously told E!, “I don’t like lying about things. When you see somebody that had [liposuction], you think that they just go into the doctor’s and come out and you look amazing. [Recovery is] actually like a very long process.” Additionally, she talked about why she had plastic surgery, saying, “I’ve always had abs. I’m a very skinny person. So when they taking extra fat out and your skin is tightening more, my bones are actually showing more.”
The singer has not directly addressed the cancelled shows.
