Jennifer Garner drove estranged husband Ben Affleck to a rehab treatment facility in Malibu on Wednesday after staging an intervention.
Garner arrived at Affleck’s Brentwood, California house on Wednesday. She left soon after, looking shaken and upset. She then returned to drive Affleck and another woman off to a treatment center. She stopped in the middle by a Jack in the Box in the Pacific Palisades.
Garner dropped Affleck off to the rehab in Malibu, stayed for about an hour and then drove back home.
Affleck and Garner share three kids: Violet, 12, Seraphina, 9, and Samuel, 6, together. A source told People that although Garner is intent on looking out for her kids in this situation, she also feels that she “has to take care of Ben and make sure that he gets help.”
The source also said, “It’s very stressful for her. And also devastating for her to have to stage an intervention in the middle of the afternoon, pretty much in public. But this was a crisis situation.”
This rehab stint comes right after Affleck was seen out and about with Shauna Sexton just a while after his relationship with SNL Lindsay Shookus ended.
Affleck’s first time in rehab was in July 2001, when Charlie Sheen drove him to another Malibu facility. He completed a 30-day residential rehabilitation program at the time. In March 2017, Affleck announced that he had completed his second time in rehab and had been treated for alcohol addiction.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner got married on June 29, 2005.
