Ariana Grande is loving the appreciation from Jennifer Garner and Reese Witherspoon about the references in her new music video.
In the ‘Thank u, next’ music video, Grande portrays the character of Jenna Rink from the 13 Going on 30 movie. She also portrays characters from Mean Girls, Legally Blonde and Bring It On.
Garner posted a clip from the music video on Instagram in which Grande was holding up Jenna’s doll house while being dressed up as Garner’s character.
Garner wrote on Instagram, “Every now and then something comes along and just brightens your day. @arianagrande you’re adorable. Thank you, pretty girl.”
Grande commented, “NooooooooOoOOoOo I’m crying. I watched this movie every night before bed growing up (and I still do sometimes, especially when I’m sad. I adore you! Thank you for all the inspiration and joy you’ve brought to my life I’m screaming bye.”
She added, “And by sometimes I literally mean every night still.” Garner also posted a picture of Grande on her Instagram story, writing, “@arianagrande looks more like Jenna Rink than I ever did! #thankunext.”
Mark Ruffalo, who plays Garner’s love interest, also paid tribute to the music video, “Having some Razzles (it’s a candy AND a gum) in your honor, @ArianaGrande! #thankunext.”
Grande also portrays Reese Witherspoon’s character Elle Woods from Legally Blonde. Witherspoon also paid tribute to the video.
“Thank u, next. [clapping emoji] [pink heart emoji] @arianagrande #EllWoodsForever #ThinkPink,” she said.
“Can we please talk about @ArianaGrande’s Bend and Snap?! 10/10 nailed it! #thankunext,” Witherspoon tweeted.
Grande replied, “Omg we tried to put our own twist on it so legal wouldn’t come for us but THANK U. this is the biggest honor. love u more than words.”
Even Lindsay Lohan, aka Cady in Mean Girls, talked about the video on her social media, saying, “Ain’t nobody Lindsay Lohan like the real Lindsay Lohan. But so flattered by @arianagrande loving #MeanGirls so much! Also, I love #dynasty.”
In the video, Pete Davidson gets a special shout out in the Burn Book, in which she writes, “sry I dipped” and “love u always” next to a picture of the two of them. She also wrote, “Huuuuuge”.
