Amy Schumer is a powerhouse of confidence, and self-love, as evidenced by the latest comment she left under a post with a photo of her with Photoshopped body modifications.
The I Feel Pretty star took to Instagram to respond to a photo of her which had been uploaded by a social media user. The user had Photoshopped a bikini photo of Amy Schumer, making her look thinner than she is.
She uploaded her edited version of Amy’s bikini’s photo alongside the original photo and wrote: “So I think Amy looks great already but man does she look way better I’m [sic] my OPINION in the second photo.”
Amy, who has always been an opponent of body-shaming, wrote back: “I disagree. I like how I really look. That’s my body. I love my body for being strong and healthy and sexy. I look liked I’d give a good hug or have a drink with you. The other picture looks nice but it’s not me. Thanks for sharing your thoughts as well. See, we’re both right.”
The social media user was legitimately embarrassed over her post, in which she had attempted to make Amy subscribe to an outdated standard of beauty.
She promptly removed the post from Instagram, and also issued an apology to the 37-year-old actress. The Instagram user apologized to Amy, took down the post, and also decided to stop using her account.
“I’m sorry Amy! It was unfair to do that to you,” the Instagram user wrote. “I didn’t think much about it when I first posted the pic. I’ve seen a lot of people photoshopping celebrities so I didn’t think mine would even be a blimp. I spent like 30 min making the photo and I should have never posted it! I’m glad people called out this post!” she wrote back.
“Actually nothing should be photoshopped because real is beautiful, I’ve learned that. Thank you to everyone who called me out on my bulls—! Because of all of you a [sic] idiotic person like me can become a better person,” the user stated on Instagram.
Amy Schumer, however, did not let this slide without first poking fun at it. She posted the two photos of herself on her Instagram story – a real picture of her having fun at the beach, which she captioned as, “Real a** me,” followed by an edited version of her photo, and wrote, “Boo.”
