Following the Maledictus theory, which revealed the true identity of Nagini, Voldemort’s beloved pet snake, another ‘potential plot hole’ has been discovered regarding Credence’s character.

In the first installment of Fantastic Beasts film, Credence, played by Ezra Miller, lived with his abusive adoptive mother and sisters. His major role in the movie was of an ‘obscurial’, which Grindelwald, played by Johnny Depp, was in search of.

The character of Leta Lestrange, played by Zoë Kravitz, was also introduced in the trailer, which assured fans that Crimes of Grindelwald will be focused on Credence’s past. According to Cosmopolitan, throughout the first film, Credence’s biological parents were not revealed, but devoted potter fans were quick at uncovering the potential hole in a selective scene.

Within the trailer, Dumbledore can be seen staring at a wall which projects the Lestrange family tree. The name “Corvus Lestrange” was stamped at the top, along with Leta’s name viewed on the lower-left and Credence’s on the right. This led fans to believe that Credence may be Leta’s half-brother, and related to Bellatrix Lestrange.

Since the release of Fantastic Beasts 2 trailer, Potterwatch have been quick on their feet. Along with past spoilers, a set of questions were also raised regarding ‘apparition’ rules set by the author, J.K. Rowling.

Rowling clearly mentioned in her seven-book Harry Potter series that no one can apparate inside Hogwarts due to its protection spells.

Fans took to Twitter to express their concern over the fact that wizards cannot apparate inside Hogwarts, but the very first scene of the trailer showed a group of wizards and witches apparating inside the school grounds.

Reportedly, fans were still unhappy about Johnny Depp continuing as Grindelwald. Some also decided to boycott the movie because Depp ‘allegedly committed domestic violence’ against his ex-wife, Amber Heard.

In the past, Rowling has also received a lot of hate from her fans regarding Depp’s continuation as Grindelwald. According to Variety, upon hearing the news, she and the producers did consider to replace the actor but then decided not to. The author also posted a statement through her blog on Twitter.

She briefly explained, “For me personally, the inability to speak openly to fans about this issue has been difficult, frustrating and at times painful. However, the agreements that have been put in place to protect the privacy of two people [Depp and Heard], both of whom have expressed a desire to get on with their lives, must be respected. Based on our understanding of the circumstances, the filmmakers and I are not only comfortable sticking with our original casting, but genuinely happy to have Johnny playing a major character in the movies.”

In regards to Depp, she also added, “I accept that there will be those who are not satisfied with our choice of actor in the title role. However, conscience isn’t governable by committee. Within the fictional world and outside it, we all have to do what we believe to be the right thing.”

Furthermore, there is another good news for the Potterclan. After the successful two-part play premiered in July 2016, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will now appear on its first ever broadway on April 22.
