Karen McDougal, former Playboy Bunny, sat down with Anderson Cooper this Thursday to talk in detail about her ten month long relationship with Donald Trump!
McDougal and Trump met during the taping of an episode, The Apprentice, in the Playboy Mansion. Hugh Hefner threw a pool party for the show’s participants, and McDougal was one of the hired playmates.

At the time of the party, Trump had been married to Melania for two years and his son Baron was only a few months old.
At the end of the party, Trump asked for McDougal’s number and they met a week later on his birthday, and consistently since as they began an affair.
The story was bought by American Media, Inc four days before the 2016 elections, the Wall Street Journal reported. AMI, which owns The National Inquirer, paid $150,000 for exclusive rights to the story and never published it. The CEO of AMI, David Pecker, is one of Trump’s close friends.
Due to the nature of the agreement, McDougal was never able to talk about her experience, but made some comments during an interview with The New Yorker, which first launched the story in February 2018.
Now, she has sat down for a detailed interview with Anderson Cooper, giving previously unknown details about the relationship she and the President had.
She talked about how the President spoke a lot about his daughter Ivanka. She said he once called her beautiful ‘like Ivanka’.
Karen said, “You know, he’s very proud of Ivanka as he should be. She’s a brilliant woman, she’s beautiful, you know, that’s his daughter and he should be proud of her. He said I was beautiful like her and, you know, ‘you’re a smart girl’ and there wasn’t a lot of comparing but there was some, yeah, I heard a lot about her.”
She said that he only brought Melania up once, mentioning that she was really intelligent, and never mentioned newborn son Baron at all, apart from talking about how the name Baron was a good choice.
She also described how after the pool party where they had initially met, the President invited her to The Beverly Inns Hotel, where he took her to his private bungalow for dinner, after which they were intimate. She described being extremely shocked when Trump tried to pay her afterwards.
While giving an account of the incident, she said, “Well, after we had been intimate, he tried to pay me, and I actually didn’t know how to take that.”
She added, “I mean, I just had this look of, I don’t know, just, I don’t even know how to describe it, the look on my face must have been so sad because, I had never been offered money like that before, number one, but number two, I thought does he think I’m in this for money or why I’m here tonight or is this a normal thing, I didn’t know but I looked at him and I said ‘That’s not me, I’m not that kind of girl’ and he said, ‘Oh, you’re really special.'”
She also talked about being very careful of his privacy. Cooper mentioned how she never wrote down his full name in her journal entries, and she said, “I either called him T or DT because if anyone found this, I wouldn’t want to expose myself or expose him.”
She also said she would pay for flights and hotel bookings whenever she wasn’t staying with him, and he would reimburse her later so that there’s ‘no paper trail’.
Towards the end of the interview, Cooper asked her, “If Melania Trump is watching this, what would you want her to know?”
She replied, “Umm, that’s a tough one, what can you say except I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I wouldn’t want it done to me.”
McDougal’s story has come out as part of her lawsuit against AMI. She is suing to void the agreement she made with them, and has claimed that they bought the story to kill it, and protect the candidacy of Trump.
AMI has since stated that they bought the story but never published it because it wasn’t credible enough.
A White House spokesperson has denied McDougal’s claims entirely, saying, “This is an old story that is just more fake news. The President says he never had a relationship with McDougal.”
