Jennifer Lawrence has set up new ‘comfort-first’ goals on the sets of her new film, Red Sparrow, which features her first full-frontal nude scene.
The 27-year-old Hollywood actress, who used to be anxious while filming intimate scenes in the past, had no shame flaunting her bare self around her film set this time.
According to Page Six, playing bold characters on set always made Lawrence uncomfortable in her own skin. However, after performing a recent stunt, filming risqué roles will never be a problem for the Passengers star again.
Lawrence explained, “I don’t have the same fear and insecurity in that one specific area that I used to.”
“So you know I’m always gonna take on roles for the same reason, you know, the character speaks to me and the director and the story. But I’m no longer gonna let that be a factor in my decision-making.”
In her new film, Lawrence plays the character of a Russian spy, Dominka Egorova, who falls in love with a CIA agent named Nathaniel ‘Nate’ Nash. The latter is played by actor, Joel Egderton.
The character’s love-affair takes an unusual turn of events when Dominika considers turning herself into a double-crossing agent.
Nudity aside, critics have given Lawrence’s performance in Red Sparrow high praises.
In a review for Variety, Owen Gleibermen wrote, “Lawrence, in this movie, shows you what true screen stardom is all about.”
He added, “She cues each scene to a different mood, leaving the audience in a dangling state of discovery. We’re on her side, but more than that we’re in her head. Even when (of course) we’re being played.”
According to the review, there was a fair share of nudity in the film, which Lawrence pulled off so naturally that wandering around off-camera without a robe was not an issue for the fearless actress.
Lawrence explained, “Everybody made me feel so comfortable that I probably at a certain point started making everybody else uncomfortable.
“Because I’d be like, ‘I don’t want the robe. I’m hot. I’m eating.’ Everybody’s like, She needs to cover up.”
Not only did Lawrence’s fans appreciate her laid back attitude and confidence off-set, but also admired her raw acting skills in the movie.
In light of the movie’s success at the Box Office, Lawrence’s co-stars mannered to ignore the attention they did not receive as the star of the movie did.
