Harvey Weinstein Banned From Television Academy Too, After Oscar Banned Him Over Sexual Abuse Allegations!

Harvey Weinstein has been officially ousted from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in light of the many allegations of sex abuse in the past weeks.

The behavior and actions of the now infamous American film producer has caused an outrage among not only the general public, but the glamoured world of Hollywood as a whole.

”The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Board of Governors met today to discuss the allegations against Harvey Weinstein, and has voted well in excess of the required two-thirds majority to expel him from the Academy.” read a statement, released on Saturday.

”We do so not simply to separate ourselves from someone who does not merit the respect of his colleagues but also to send a message that the era of willful ignorance and shameful complicity in sexually predatory behavior and workplace harassment in our industry is over.

What’s at issue here is a deeply troubling problem that has no place in our society. The Board continues to work to establish ethical standards of conduct that all Academy members will be exemplified.”

More than fifty women have come forward with allegations against Harvey Weinstein.

After few initial allegations, Weinstein issued a statement and denied allegations, saying ”I appreciate the way I’ve behaved with colleagues in the past has caused a lot of pain, and I sincerely apologize for it.”

His spokesperson also issued a statement and denied any sexual misconduct, ”Any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr. Weinstein has further confirmed that there were never any acts of retaliation against any women for refusing his advances.

Mr. Weinstein obviously can’t speak to anonymous allegations, but with respect to any women who have made allegations on the record, Mr. Weinstein believes that all of these relationships were consensual.

Mr. Weinstein has begun counseling, has listened to the community and is pursuing a better path. Mr. Weinstein is hoping that, if he makes enough progress, he will be given a second chance.”

Weinstein is under separate criminal and civil rights investigations in Los Angles, New York, and London.

Mimi Haleyi:

A former production assistant, Mimi Haleyi, claimed that Harvey Weinstein orally forced himself on her when she was in her early 20s.

Rose McGowan:

She accused Weinstein of rape in a series of tweets.

Liza Campbell:

Artist and Writer, Liza Campbell, claimed that she had met Weinstein in 1995 in his hotel room for some business meeting where he invited her to jump in the bath with him.

He asked her to soap him and offered champagne. According to Liza, she got furious and afraid and told him that if he comes in the room without clothes, she will lose her temper.

She also recalled that several exits were locked, but thankfully she found an unlocked door and left.

According to TV journalist Sivan, Weinstein masturbated in front of her and ejaculated into a potted plant.

She said, ”I could not believe what I was witnessing. It was disgusting and kind of pathetic… More than the disgusting act itself.”

She further stated that demeaning part of it all is that just 20 minutes earlier he was having a great conversation with her, and she was flattered, but this act only showed her his real face.

Emma De Caunes:

Emma De Caunes told The New Yorker that Weinstein invited her to lunch in Paris, where he claimed that she had some role in his movie.

When she went to his room, he disappeared into the bathroom and emerged naked, with an erection, at which point she fled.

According to De Caunes, she was petrified, but she didn’t show him because she felt that the more she was freaking out, the more he was excited.

Sorvino told The New Yorker that Harvey Weinstein tried to give her a massage and chased her around at Toronto Film Festival.

He managed to bypass doorman, according to her.

”I opened the door terrified, brandishing my twenty pound-Chihuahua mix in front of me.” She said that she told him his new boyfriend was on the way, at which point he left. According to her, Weinstein harmed her career. ”There may have been many factors, but I definitely felt iced out, and that my rejection of Harvey had something to do with it,” she added.

Lea Seydoux:

Lea Seydoux, the French actress, told The Guardian that Harvey Weinstein tried to assault her sexually.

“We were talking on the sofa when he suddenly jumped on me and tried to kiss me. I had to defend myself. He is big and fat.”

She had to push him physically to save herself.

And the list goes on.

Weinstein’s wife Georgina also announced to leave him after these allegations, and he has been fired from The Weinstein company as well.

He has been banned from the Producers Guild of America, and now the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have expelled him too.
