PETA, an animal rights advocacy organization, posted a disturbing video showing animal abuse on the sets of Mathew Morrison’s new film, Crazy Alien, in China.
A disturbing video was shared by PETA, showing a young German Shepherd being hurled into the air, spun around, and then submerged in freezing cold water.

According to IndieWire, the footage was passed on to PETA by a crew member who was outraged when witnessing the animal cruelty. Unfortunately there are no laws in China, where the film was being shot, preventing such treatment of animals.
According to information logs sent to PETA, the whistleblower detailed the incident, narrating that the animal was not offered treats nor rewards for his performance and the torturous scene was shot multiple times. The dog was allegedly “tormented into a frenzy” for repeated takes.
PETA has urged people to boycott the film and hold producers accountable. They have also pushed the cast, including Mathew Morrison of Glee fame, to donate their salaries to charities in China that are working for animal-protection.
Furthermore, they have demanded that the torturous scenes be cut from the film and the director of the movie, Ning Hao, never be permitted to work with animals again.
Matthew Morrison took notice of the video and responded with a statement on Twitter. He assured fans, “Had I been on set or known about this, I would have made all efforts to stop this.”
However, people were surprised that he was unaware of the scenes included in the script.
Furious at the inhumane and cruel treatment of the German shepherd, people also took on their social media accounts to unleash their thoughts. Many vowed to boycott the film and called on others to follow.
Ironically, according to the Chinese zodiac, 2018 is the Year of the Dog. Though this beautiful creature should be enjoying love, affection and celebration of his existence, he was instead tortured and violated.
Last year, the film A Dog’s Purpose came under heavy criticism for animal abuse on its sets after a video showing the cruel treatment of a German shepherd was released by TMZ. The film subsequently performed badly at the Box Office.
It is yet to be determined how Crazy Alien will do once it hits screens. but we truly hope that the German shepherd shown in the video is healthy and happy, where ever he is.
